Our Special Events
Cedar Hill is more than just a funeral home — we are an active component in the Suitland area communities we serve. Throughout the year, our funeral home staff participates in special events, such as hospice walks, educational programs, military tributes, and so much more.
Annual Holiday Service of Remembrance
6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015
Holidays force us to realize how much our lives have been changed by the loss of our loved one. Particularly in the first year, many bereaved are left with having to develop new holiday rituals and traditions. The first step in coping with grief at the holidays is to make specific plans to obtain the support that you need. We want you to know that we are here to help.
You and your family are cordially invited to our annual Holiday Service of Remembrance at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, in the chapel of Cedar Hill Funeral Home, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue. Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by Tuesday, Dec. 15. We look forward to seeing you there.
Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015
The Cedar Hill staff invites all veterans in our community to stop by and visit the funeral home on Veterans Day to receive a small token of our sincere appreciation. Our funeral home office will be open between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015.
Community Coat Drive
Sept. 1 - Dec. 1, 2015
Support local children and adults in need by donating clean, gently-used coats and jackets in our Community Coat Drive. Donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays in our funeral home. All donations collected in our Community Coat Drive will benefit Shepherd’s Cove for Women and Children, and the Transition Center at Prince George's House for Men.
